What is The Kiwanis Club of Henrico?

We were originally chartered as The Kiwanis Club of Tuckahoe in April, 1981 by a group of individuals who wanted to work together to serve their local community under a larger umbrella organization. In 2025 we decided to re-organize as The Kiwanis Club of Henrico to better reflect our demographics and service area.

“The Kiwanis Club of Henrico respects the dignity and value of each person, regardless of race, gender, age, orientation, or religious faith; discrimination of any kind is not tolerated. We strive to sustain an inclusive environment that reflects the greater Henrico community at large, and we welcome any prospective member who shares these values and desires to make a tangible impact in the lives of the children we serve.“

What Do We Do?

We are a community service organization in Henrico County, Virginia dedicated to the Kiwanis Club International mission of serving the children of the world. We support like-minded community organizations financially and with our own hands-on service. The Club averages approximately 1,000 hours of service each year to a wide range of non-profit, charitable organizations across Henrico County.

What is The Kiwanis Club of Henrico’s Youth Protection Policy?

In keeping with our motto, “Serving the Children of the World”, our various sponsored programs  for youth are guided by a policy of high standards that Henrico Kiwanis expects of its members while interacting with youth in all Kiwanis activities.

Kiwanis International’s Youth Protection Policy is not intended to limit the interaction with the young people we support.   These standards strive to protect the children and Kiwanians, and are intended to provide “peace of mind” to parents and others charged with the safety of our youth.

If one observes or otherwise becomes aware of a situation that may put a youth at risk, the situation should be reported immediately to the appropriate authorities. One of the following phone numbers can be called to accomplish this:
